Practice-area visibility for Irish law firms

Cited reviews the public evidence that helps prospective clients and search and AI systems understand your firm’s confirmed services, who they are for, where they are available and what the appropriate next step is.

Evidence-led. Founder-reviewed. No ranking, citation or enquiry guarantees.

Three practice-area scopes at launch, each with a distinct client journey

Employment Law

Cited examines whether employee, employer and mixed-audience services are clearly distinguished, and whether each intended audience can find relevant information, visible supporting evidence and an appropriate next step.

Family Law

Relationship change, arrangements for children, and maintenance and family financial matters need clearly separated, carefully worded routes.

At launch, Cited supports the three practice-area scopes shown here.

A practice-area list tells people what exists. It does not always answer their specific question.

Someone facing a redundancy, a house sale or a separation does not search for a firm’s service menu. They ask a specific question, in their own words, often naming a place. What they find depends on whether the firm’s confirmed services are clearly named, connected to real people and locations, and reachable through a sensible enquiry route.

What is commonly missing

  • Practice areas appear only inside a general services list
  • Different client journeys within one area are not distinguished
  • No named person is connected to a particular area
  • Location or service-area coverage is unclear or unsupported
  • The enquiry route does not reflect the context or sensitivity of the practice area
  • High-intent questions a prospective client would ask go unanswered

These are patterns Cited looks for. Whether any of them applies to a particular firm is a question the audit answers, not this page.

Is each practice area a separate audit?

One engagement. Practice-area lenses.

A Cited Visibility Audit is one engagement and one report. Within the scope agreed in your proposal, each supported practice area is examined through its own lens rather than as a separate review. The number and complexity of the practice areas included form part of the proposal and the evidence plan.

  • Evidence that is true of the firm is reviewed once, not repeated for each area.
  • Evidence specific to a practice area is examined for each area included in your scope.
  • There is one Cited Visibility Score™ for the firm, not one score per practice area.
  • Including a further area adds depth of examination within the same engagement rather than starting a second one.
  • Each included area receives the same depth of search and AI query testing.

What does Cited review once at firm level?

What is reviewed at firm level, and what is examined within each included area

Reviewed at firm level

  • Firm identity and naming consistency
  • Firm-confirmed offices and general service areas
  • Site-wide technical and structural readiness
  • Overall entity and brand trust signals
  • General contact and form behaviour
  • Site-wide privacy and publication controls
  • Common accessibility and conversion foundations

Examined within each included practice area

  • Confirmed services and client journeys
  • Practice-specific location relevance
  • Area-specific content structure and depth
  • Named people and their connection to that area
  • Area-appropriate enquiry routes
  • Area-specific claims, risks and evidence
  • Area-relevant search and AI query testing

Trust signals, publication risk and named people can exist at both levels. The table shows where each is reviewed first, not where it can only ever appear.

How are several practice areas handled?

One firm may include several practice-area scopes.

Where more than one supported practice area is included in your scope, shared firm-wide evidence is reviewed once. Each included area is then examined through its own lens, and the findings are brought together in one prioritised report and roadmap for the firm.

An area outside the agreed scope is recorded as not assessed, rather than inferred from incomplete evidence.

Five questions a prospective client should not have to guess

  • Who? Which named people are publicly connected to the service
  • What? Which firm-confirmed services and client journeys are clearly presented
  • Where? Which offices and service areas are consistent with firm-confirmed information
  • Why trust it? Which supportable public trust signals stand behind the service
  • What next? Whether there is a clear and appropriate first-contact route

Each practice page applies a short version of these five questions to its own area.

Evidence becomes a practical, prioritised roadmap

Findings are recorded with the evidence behind them, mapped to the seven Cited Visibility Score categories, and turned into a prioritised set of next steps. Where a practice area is included in your scope, that scope is reflected in the evidence, the findings and the recommendations.

What does Cited not assess?

What Cited reviews, and what it does not

Cited reviews visible public evidence and enquiry readiness. It does not assess the quality of legal advice, the merits of a matter or professional competence.

Cited does not:

  • provide legal advice or representation in any area
  • determine legal rights, eligibility or the merits of a matter
  • judge professional competence or verify a practitioner’s standing
  • approve legal wording for publication
  • certify legal, advertising, privacy or regulatory compliance
  • guarantee rankings, AI citations, enquiries or revenue

Search and AI results are recorded as dated observations from a controlled sample. They are signals, not permanent positions and not authority.

Start with the evidence already visible

A Free Visibility Check is a concise, founder-reviewed first look, without promising a fixed number of observations. It is not the full audit, and does not include the complete query-testing, evidence-capture and scoring process.
